Introduction
Retail: The retail back-office is where all the physical cash, cheques, vouchers and other payment media have to be reconciled with the values recorded into the Point-of-Sale system, where bank deposits are prepared and where till floats are made ready for cashiers to use for change purposes. RCO is an innovative software product to improve productivity and security of cash handling in this environment. It works in conjunction with a currency recycler and touch screen pc and has been termed an ‘automated safe’ for retailers.
Banking: The increasing trend of financial institutions to employ kiosk style, open floor plans, is instigating a requirement to improve processing time yet still ensure staff safety. RCO integrates a simple software product and a high security vault in the form of a currency recycler to quickly and efficiently automate cash handling. Overview
RCO brings a new level of cash automation to both retail and bank institutions. It simplifies reconciliation, speeds up counting and cash dispensing, frees up staff and improves cash security. Controlled via a PC and the associated RCO software application, currency recyclers automate counting of banknote deposits, withdrawals and change transactions, thus reducing the need for manual intervention and restricting cash accessibility. Not only does this minimise user error, it
also limits opportunity for theft. Simultaneously the unit provides effective counterfeit detection and safe storage. Modern recyclers have high security options such as a strongbox, vibration detection sensor, delay timer security, personal password locking and an alarm centre connection system. By ensuring the accuracy of cash counting and dispensing and by providing a secure holding unit, RCO improves the level of security within the cash office or front of house customer environment
and reduces the associated risks for staff involved in cash handling.
