7 Layer Solutions win Workforce Development Award

Over 600 businessmen and women packed the Centaur conference centre at Cheltenham racecourse for the 2007 Business Awards dinner in association with Gloucestershire Media.

To the delight of 7 Layer's directors and staff representatives the company won the Workforce Development Award. This was granted in recognition of the company's investments in training and its commitment to staff development and retention. Every employee has a personal development plan and a training budget to spend on acquisition of technical, interpersonal or management skills. Everybody in the company, from director down to new recruit, must commit themselves to a programme of improvement.

Examples of personal achievements during 2006-7 included:

 

1. Achievement of Oracle Certification for software developer, Austin McDonald, who qualified as an Oracle Certified Associate.
2. Completion of the Certificate in Leadership and Management Studies at Worcester University by Phillip Ball, Project Team Leader.
3. Attainment of the Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors by John McDonnell, Marketing Director following courses at Durham Business School.
