7 Layer's investment in software development skills for Microsoft’s mobile computer operating systems has paid off with successful customer installations and a competency accreditation from Microsoft.

During 2006 7 Layer invested in specialised training courses for 5 of its staff in developing mobile computer applications. Following completion of three projects Microsoft were invited to independently assess the company's performance by contacting 7 Layer's customers. Each gave the company an excellent reference and as a result 7 Layer have been accredited with Microsoft Mobility Solutions Competency.

The company have now also completed a major development for a financial institution using mobile computers in a high security wireless LAN environment.
