Mike achieves APMP status

Our dedicated Customer Services Manager, Mike Thomas, wanted to endorse his practical experience in project management with a formal academic credential. The Association of Project Management Professional (APMP) qualification is recognised by Europe’s largest project management authority and is approved as an International Project Management Association level D qualification which also awards Mike worldwide recognition.

APMP is a knowledge based competency covering 37 areas from the APM Body of Knowledge. Comprehension of these and the ability to practically apply them is considered fundamental to the professional management of projects. Successful candidates are able to participate in projects from individual assignments through to large capital projects. APMP assesses the candidate’s breadth of capability in all areas of project management, from strategic and commercial implications, to the technical, organisational and people management skills required to participate effectively within a project team.

Mike began his career in Cash Logistics 10 years ago.  He was formerly employed by Standard Bank of South Africa as the processing manager in charge of their largest cash centre and had responsibility for 100 tellers and a throughput of cash to the value of ZAR1m per day.  He then moved to Fidelity Cash Management Services (FCMS), the largest retail cash-in-transit company in South Africa and since acquired by G4S. Handling all cash processing procedures, he specified the development of new computer systems to manage these processes and project managed their implementation in cash centres throughout the country. At 7 Layer Mike’s professional attitude and ‘know how’ ideally suit his responsibility for customer support, implementation management and all post development services of our partner, distributor and direct client base.

The company has undertaken contracts for banks, security companies, suppliers of cash processing systems and commercial companies, including some of the industry’s best known names.
