Having already passed the first exam requirement focussing on .NET Framework foundational skills, Andy Garner had to pass an exam on 'Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 - Windows-Based Client Development' and successfully achieved this last month to become a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Windows Applications). An MCTS is consistently capable of implementing, building, troubleshooting and debugging a particular Microsoft technology. Developers who earn the MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Windows Applications certification have demonstrated breadth and depth of skills and knowledge of Windows Forms technology, in addition to expertise in data access in Microsoft Windows applications.

The Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) credential provides industry recognition to professional developers who build powerful applications by using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and Web services on the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 and Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1. Mark Whitelaw, a senior developer at 7 Layer, passed his exam on 'Developing XML Web Services and Server Components with Microsoft Visual C# .NET and the Microsoft .NET Framework' and is now a Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD).
